Questions

What tutoring costs

How much do tutors charge per hour in Toronto?

Most private tutors in Toronto charge between $40 and $100 an hour. Students and recent graduates sit at the low end, and certified teachers sit at the high end.

Why $100 an hour?

You're working with a former TDSB English teacher who knows how Ontario English is marked. I work only one-on-one, and I plan each session around your teen's real assignments.

Is a tutor worth it?

It's worth it when there's a specific gap and a reason to close it: a mark that matters for university, the OSSLT, or an application. The free call is there to find out whether that's the case. If it isn't, I'll say so.

Where can I find free tutoring in Toronto?

The Toronto Public Library runs free homework help, and many schools have peer tutoring or teacher help after class. Those are a good first step. Private tutoring makes sense when a student needs one-on-one time on their own writing.

Not sure which option fits?

Ask on the free call. I'll suggest the smallest amount of help that does the job.
